Childhood by Zofia

I grew up in the countryside on my parents farm that used to belonged to their parents and before of that to their parents and one day will belong to me or to one of my brothers or sisters.
I particularly loved the summer time, waking up early morning and play in tag with my brothers on slippery grass wet with dew.
Breakfast with milk so fresh that ** still warm and the homemade bread, baked by my grandfather, which profume was irresistible.
We used to have a lot of animals there but my and my brothers favorite were rabbits, that's why everyday we went to field in search of dendalion, rabbit's favorite herb and came back with bounches of wild flowers for our mother.
Some time, on those, we called them 'special days' we had 'expeditions' to the forest with my parents or grandfather to pick up blueberries or mushrooms, depends on the season, though we prefered bluberries as after eating them we could compaire whos tongue was the blackest one and the winner took the blueberries picked up by the looser.
I remeber going back home from the forest on the late afternoon, accrossing the river which water was impeccably clear and looking at the big red sun setting behind the horizon.
We, children, were never tired so in the night instead of sleepping we prefered to compete in 'who would count more stars' and usually we fallen asleep doing that on the soft, still sented of grass hay.
